Resolute Racing Shells Welcomes Troy Duff to the Account Executive Team

Bristol, Rhode Island – June 17, 2010: Resolute Racing Shells is proud to announce the addition of Troy Duff to our Resolute team. He brings over 15 years of experience as an athlete and coach.

Troy began his rowing career at West Springfield High in Virginia in 1992 and went on represent the US in the 1995 Junior World Games in Poznan Poland in the coxed 4. During his studies at Syracuse University he rowed as part of the First Freshman 8+ and then on the Varsity 8+ team. After college Troy went back to his roots at West Springfield High and began his coaching career as the assistant coach in sculling. Over the next 8 years he coached a variety of both men’s and women’s crews. Loving the sport the way he does though, he found a way to keep his hand in the game by becoming a USRowing Judge Referee in 2006.

Troy’s primary focus will be developing new customers and working with existing customers. He will be geographically located in Virginia for accounts in the Mid-Atlantic area. Troy said: “I am looking forward to representing not only the great shells Resolute makes but the team that makes them. I find myself in that fortunate position of being able to make a career out of doing something I love.” Rick LaViolette, President and CEO, said: “The Mid-Atlantic area is one of the fastest growing regions and Troy’s coming on board could not have come at a better time. With all of the great programs located there we will now be able to provide more immediate and personalized service to our customers there. Just thought we should remind you that Team Vespoli Regional Representatives are the samefolks you have gotten to know and trust over the past 18 years.  It isn’t a “revolving door” at Vespoli.   Dave Trond, Dave Dickison, Amanda Kukla, Jeff Border and JP Sekulich have been and will be here to assist you.  Each of these individuals has been a rower, coach and  customer!  They know our products, BELIEVE in our products and most importantly they know you.  So,  while it may be exciting to announce a new  “Account Executive”  every few months, it is more reassuring to know that when you need help buying, selling, moving or repairing boats, or just good, solid advice, TEAM VESPOLI  is there to help.  Yes, the SAME people you have been dealing with and counting on for years! Boathouse Sports Introduces "Equinox" Soft Shell Jacket

Philadelphia, PA – May 4, 2010 – Boathouse Sports, the Philadelphia-based manufacturer of leading-edge custom athletic apparel, today introduced the company's first-ever soft shell jacket, the "Equinox."

"We pride ourselves on being innovative and setting new benchmarks for custom team performance apparel," said Doug Tibbetts, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boathouse Sports.  "The Equinox is the result of untold hours of testing by elite athletes in real world conditions and is an excellent example of the constant evolution of Boathouse."

Boathouse started with a clean sheet of paper when it designed the "Equinox Jacket."  The "Equinox" fuses a 3-layer waterproof breathable outer-layer (a 5000 mm waterproof rating) with a breathable mid-layer membrane (a 5000 gr breathability rating) and a soft micro-fleece inner-layer.  Boathouse's goal with the "Equinox" was to create a jacket which is cool during strenuous activity and warm during periods of inactivity.

The "Equinox Jacket" features several functional innovations:

flex fit styling with 4-way stretch fabric for unlimited freedom of movement
a 2-color option for maximum customization
an integrated inside media pocket with a headphone link system
a zippered outer pocket on the left chest
a zipper garage at the top of the neck for additional comfort

Resolute Joins University of Rhode Island for the Dedication of "Teresa Paiva-Weed"

Bristol, Rhode Island – March 27, 2010: Resolute Racing Shells joins the University of Rhode Island Women’s rowing team and dignitaries for the dedication of their new Resolute 4+ “Teresa Paiva-Weed”.


It was a sunny but cold day at the URI Campanella Boathouse on the Narrows River in Kingston, Rhode Island as the Rams won each of their three varsity races and reclaimed the Yankee Cup. After the racing they dedicated their new and currently undefeated Resolute 4+ “Teresa Paiva-Weed”.


Ms. Paiva-Weed, the first women in Rhode Island history to serve as President of the Senate, was surrounded by URI President David M. Dooley, Athletic Director Thorr Bjorn, Resolute executive committee member Bernie Taradash, and Head Coach of Women’s Rowing Shelagh Donohoe as she poured the finest champagne, befitting her namesake, over the bow.


Ms. Donohoe said: "The Yankee Cup is the first step in the process of achieving our 2010 goals. I believe that our intensity and attention to detail during winter training helped us bring the Yankee Cup back to RI. In addition to racing, we were very excited to christen the "Teresa Paiva Weed", the newest Resolute 4+ in our fleet. Teresa is the first women to serve as the Senate President in the State of Rhode Island and it is a true honor to have her name on a wonderful boat! I am excited to see how the rest of 2010 season unfolds."

Resolute and Providence Announce Dates for Rowing Camps at Brown University

Bristol, Rhode Island – March 12, 2010: Resolute Racing Shells is proud to announce our sponsorship of the Providence Rowing Camps at Brown University.

The 5 day/4 night sweep camps occur July 25 – 29th, 2010 and will be held at the Hunter S. Marston Boat House on the Seekonk River in Providence, RI. The camp will focus on technique and racing skills for boys and girls ages 14 to 18 at all experience levels as well as providing an introduction to life as a college student-athlete.


As rowers and boat designers ourselves, we have always been deeply involved with the rowing community. Resolute is especially excited to help nurture the next generation of rowers. That's why we’ve partnered with the Providence Rowing Camps at Brown University, a top-notch training site that includes state-of-the art equipment, an indoor rowing tank, and a highly qualified coaching staff primarily hailing from Brown University. Judah Rome, Camp Co-Director, said: “We are very excited to be working with Resolute for our camp.  We are sure that their boats will help make the Providence Rowing Camp a great success.  We anticipate a well attended camp that will help high school rowers of all abilities improve physically and technically while having a lot of fun.”
